Indoor Fence

November 18, 2008

The rough is greener than the fairway
Which is greener than the green
Which is easily the greenest thing
That I have ever seen.
There is no fence around that grass
It has no ceiling made of glass
No fence nowhere on this course, unless

You count the condominium
Whose window looks so lonely with no hole.

Sorry, can’t say I understand this poem. I understand every word but I cannot understand the feeling or emotions behind it (http://legacydaily.com/2008/12/understanding-poetry-the-final-frontier/). Also, I have to say I have never seen an Armenian poem about golf or one mentioning a condominium. :) Interesting blog you have.

maybe: it compares the lushness of the unkempt rough to the more civilized but enervated fairway.
